Veterinary Services

Yes, we can help your furry family members, too! There are many ways a compounding pharmacy can partner with your vet to provide excellent care for your pets. Many animals are resistant to conventional medication methods, so alternative solutions are needed.

We can formulate certain medications as a flavored oral suspension, a chewy treat or even as a paw paste (a flavored paste applied directly to the animal’s tongue, food or paw), which is especially convenient for smaller, self-grooming animals.

Bioidentical Hormone Replacement Therapy

Bioidentical Hormone Replacement Therapy (BHRT) is the practice of creating internal balance using hormones that are the exact same chemical structure as those naturally occurring in your body. Structural differences seen in synthetic or animal hormones can lead to a multitude of side effects and unwanted symptoms.

The thought behind balancing hormones is to use only the amount needed to achieve resolution of bothersome symptoms. Therefore doses and hormone combinations are truly specialized to suit each individual patient. Hormone therapy is initiated slowly and in conjunction with your medical provider so as to create a true team approach.

Please note that you will need to book a consultation with us prior to beginning BHRT treatment.

Low Dose Naltrexone (LDN)

Naltrexone has traditionally been used at standard doses of 50-100 mg per day for the treatment of opioid addiction. When used at significantly lower doses of 3 to 4.5 mg per day (cue the term ‘Low Dose Naltrexone’), it is understood to affect functioning of the human immune system, thus making it a popular potential treatment option for numerous disease states, including but not limited to autoimmune diseases, pain, and depression.

Between its low side effect profile and vast array of potential uses, more prescribers are turning to LDN as a treatment option for their patients. These lower strengths of Naltrexone are only available through compounding pharmacies.

Dermatology & Aesthetics

Compounding can offer numerous options in the field of dermatology and aesthetics that overcome many obstacles commonly seen with skin conditions. Using calculated combinations of active ingredients in cosmetically elegant vehicles, the possibilities are endless when it comes to treating a multitude of dermatologic conditions including eczema, psoriasis, melasma, acne and more.

Whether the goal is management of symptoms, prevention, avoiding irritants, simplifying regimens, or preparing for a professional treatment, compounding can create a specialized product specific to your needs.

Thyroid Dysfunction

Many people experience sensitivities to their thyroid medication whether it be the synthetic hormone, the choice of filler used, the immediate release component, or simply the unavailability of the strength combination they require.

For those patients we are able to compound T3 and T4 in whatever customized dose combination needed, or just straight porcine thyroid, using pure forms of the drug that has passed potency testing. A multitude of filler options are available to those with specific sensitivities to inactive ingredients, and a sustained release option is available for those needing to avoid the adverse effects of immediate release preparations.
